GCCSF toy donation locations announced

The need is real and time is of the essence. The Greene County Christmas Stocking Fund (GCCSF) will be providing toys to more than 300 children, ages 13 and younger this year, so please help support a child by taking a new, unwrapped toy to any of the locations or events listed below.

The annual two-day ‘Diesels in Dark Corners’ at The Liberty Truck and Tractor Pull last weekend once again featured trucks, tractors, and crowds coming from across the United States and Canada in high numbers, making this event another success.

The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art (STMA) in Buckhead is holding an opening reception on Nov. 12, 4-6 p.m., for a new display, Mentor and Protégé: Jack Stewart and Steffen Thomas. The showing will remain in place until Jan. 28, next year.

Halloween in Greensboro

Greene County Schools celebrated Halloween last week with eager and excited students parading in costumes with its annual “Trunk or Treat” event. Mike Lynch, chairman of the Greene County Board of Education, even got into the spirit by appearing as Batman with two fellow students as Batkids.
