Annual lighting of the tree in Greensboro

Start off the holiday season by making memories in downtown Greensboro on Dec. 2, at the annual Lighting of the Tree event. Gather on the Courthouse Lawn from 6-8 p.m. Friday night for performances from local organizations and help Mayor Corey Williams to light the big town tree.

Eatonton native receives HR industry recognition

Eatonton native and Lake Country resident Melissia Rusk received the 2022 Georgia Local Government Personnel Association (GLGPA) Professional Achievement Award on Nov. 4, during an industry conference at Callaway Gardens, near Columbus.

LOA’s One-Act Play named region champion, state runner-up

On Oct. 28, Lake Oconee Academy’s high school theatre troupe captured the Region One-Act Play Championship trophy with their moving production of Mockingbird, which tells the story of Caitlin, a young girl on the autism spectrum.

PCES hosts parent-student Thanksgiving lunches

Putnam County Elementary School (PCES) hosted Thanksgiving lunches for its students and their parents on Nov.15-17, with about 600 parents attending the three-day event. Each day, one grade, third through fifth, had the cafeteria at its disposal.

Car show raises funds for Putnam CLC

Brilliant hues, not only of fall leaves, dotted the streets surrounding Eatonton’s historic Putnam County Courthouse on Nov. 5, as colorful, customized and restored vehicles of all makes and models lined up for the inaugural Putnam County Christian Learning Center (CLC) Car Show.
