Lake Oconee Area Builders Association (LOABA) invites everyone to save the date for The Big Event. This free one-day festival takes place on Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Oconee Village at 1000 Vista Drive in Greensboro.

PCHS showcases artistic talent

Holiday cheer filled the halls and walls of Putnam County High School on Dec. 8, as Holiday in Our Halls showcased the artwork and various talents of numerous students. Among the biggest displays was a Christmas tree lane, which also served as a fundraiser for several PCHS student organizations.

Cows come home for local photographer

Eatonton’s own Rita Harman submitted the winning entry to the annual Georgia Association of Conservation Districts (GACD) Photo Contest. Harman’s shot of several cows feeding at a farm near Hwy. 16 in Putnam County won the district contest and earned her entry into a statewide competition.

The Spirit of Christmas

The Lake Country Chorus presented The Spirit of Christmas Thru A Child’s Eyes at the First United Methodist Church to a packed assembly last Thursday night. The 75-minute concert under Artistic Director Donna Valvo featured The Lake Country Chorus joined onstage by a 13-member orchestra.

Wreaths Across America honors veterans’ graves

National Wreaths Across America Day was recognized in Putnam County on Nov. 17, with a noon ceremony at Eatonton’s Veterans Wall of Honor, followed by individual wreath placements on more than 400 veterans’ gravesites at four local cemeteries.

Madison Holiday Parade

Morgan County held its annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 10 along Main Street, and if you weren’t in the holiday spirit, you are now. The Morgan County High School band, the Morgan Fire Department, and other organizations participated and adults and children loved the holiday festivities.
