The Harbor Club Pickleball Association held a members-only tournament April 20 with more than 30 players in both the intermediate and advanced levels that were combined for play. Each game lasted 10 minutes.

Greene County High School had three students sign letters of intent to continue their respective athletic careers at the next level on Monday in the school’s auditorium. Students, family members, school staff, coaches, teammates, and friends gathered to celebrate the special event with athletes Jay’shaun Jernigan, JaQuavious Burdette, and Kamari Smith.

Greensboro native Remi Baker, a graduating senior at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, has been named among 625 semifinalists in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from more than 6,000 candidates expected to graduate from U.S. high schools this year.

Several agents for Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty/Lake Country (CBLO) have recently been recognized with industry awards and for individual achievements. Leading the way, CBLO’s Robert Boatright was named Realtor of the Year, and Lauren Coyne was awarded Rookie of the Year honors, both by the Lake Country Board of Realtors.

The Greene County Livestock Association and Greene County Extension have roped a milestone this year by bringing in the Bubba Oubre Rodeo Company for the 25th annual Greene County Pro Rodeo this weekend.

The Greene County School System has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education for its implementation of the state-wide behavior initiative Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

The 3rd annual Morgan County Special Olympics track-and-field event was held recently at Morgan County High School’s Bill Corry Stadium, where 73 Special Olympians from Greene and Morgan counties participated.
