The Jazz Legacy Project (JLP) returned to Greensboro’s historic Festival Hall on May 14, with a tribute concert celebrating the music and life of jazz legend Louis Armstrong.

More than 200 guests congregated on May 2 for the inaugural Hats, Horses & Helping Hands Derby fundraiser to benefit Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN), presented by Synovus at Lake Oconee Equestrian in Eatonton.

OPAS Memorial Day concert kicks off summer

The Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) will kick off summer in unforgettable Lake Country style with its annual OPAS Memorial Day Weekend Concert at The Farm at Oconee (1140 Oconee Heights Lane, Greensboro). Scheduled for Saturday, May 23, music begins at 8 p.m.

Second Harvest food distribution coming soon

Second Harvest will host its monthly food distribution on May 16 from 8–9 a.m., or until supplies run out, at First Methodist Church, Greensboro-Lake Oconee.In addition, the Lake Oconee Humane Society will be on site to distribute pet food and supplies.
