Morgan County celebrates Homecoming 2026

Morgan County

Morgan County Charter Schools celebrated homecoming week Oct. 15-19, capping off the festivities with a parade before the Dogs kicked off at home against Franklin County.

The occasion took place on College Drive, adjacent to the middle and high schools.

The procession began at 2 p.m. after an early dismissal, allowing students from the primary and elementary schools to line the sidewalks and greet parade participants. The lineup began with the Morgan County High School Marching Band, then introduced the seniors on the 2026 homecoming court.

Parade floats featured several of the school system’s fall athletics programs, including volleyball, softball, and football from the middle and high schools. Multiple student organizations from each school participated in the parade, and some students rode on the floats alongside their teachers.

The high school’s parade floats additionally featured students from each graduating class currently attending the school.

Throughout the week, students and faculty participated in multiple dress-up days, such as “wrong occasion,” “decades day,” and “country vs. country club day.” High school students played a powderpuff game the night before the parade, with sophomores and seniors competing for a flag football victory.

Morgan County High School capped off the parade with a pep rally in the school’s competition gym and presented the homecoming court at halftime.
