Lake Country Players present ‘9 to 5: The Musical’

The Lake Country Players and the Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts performances of 9 to 5: the Musical came to an end after sold-out performances at both Festival Hall in Greensboro and the Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton over the past two weeks.

The first-ever collaboration between LCP and PAPA was an outstanding success and once again highlighted the great talent within local community theaters. Musicals are more complex and labor-intensive than a play, and this collaboration of two theater companies brought to audiences more creative minds, talented actors, experienced directors and technical expertise.

Directors Dennis McClain, Dotti McClain and Sarah Daly Weir with Assistant Director Michael Homeier, Music Director Donna Valvo and Choreographer and LCP Board Chair Mo Brower brought the large audiences to their feet throughout the performances, and standing ovations were the norm. At Festival Hall, food was catered by The Chef and The Wife.

In the words of Mo Brower, “The best compliment of the night, an elderly gentleman came up to me and said, ‘Thank you so much for bringing this level of entertainment to our community! My wife and I can’t drive to the Fox theater… now we don’t have to!’”
