Former Greene County standout finds next college home

After entering the NCAA transfer portal a few weeks ago, former USC defensive back and Greene County multi-sport star athlete Steve Miller found his new college home on Monday, according to a report by On3.com.

Several Tigers tabbed to All-Region team

Greene County had another successful season in 2024, and the Class A Division II Region 8 coaches recognized several Tigers by voting them to the All-Region team.

Miller, Wynn to represent Greene County at next level

Greene County football’s Steve Miller and Kevin Wynn will continue their careers at the Division I level.Last week, Miller and Wynn signed the dotted line during the first day of the NCAA’s Early Signing Period for football. A signing ceremony was held for them at the school on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Greene County to face tough test in scrimmage

Greene County will play a preseason scrimmage against Northeast (Macon) on Friday night before its season opener next week. The Tigers will face a talented Raiders squad that went 8-3 overall last year in Class A Division I.

Tigers lose heartbreaker in playoffs

Greene County lost a heartbreaker last Friday against defending state champion Bowdon on the road. The Red Devils trailed for most of the game but took a 28-23 lead with under a minute left. However, the Tigers didn’t go down easy as they marched down the field and tried to retake the lead.

Greene County travels to Bowdon for second round

After leaving Tiger Stadium with a shutout win last Friday, Greene County football has to prepare to travel to the other side of Atlanta to play Bowdon High School in the second round of the Class A Division II state playoffs this Friday.

Tigers top Bulldogs, snap losing streak

The Greene County football team has started the 2023 season out well, with its most recent success coming against the Morgan County Bulldogs. The Tigers hosted head coach Clint Jenkins and company at Tiger Stadium for both teams’ second game of the year and walked away with a 24-14 victory.

Tigers best Eagles in season opener

After playing a physical fall scrimmage against Putnam County, the Greene County football team began the regular season off on a positive note. The Tigers defeated the Eagles of Business Engineering Science and Technology (BEST) Academy 37-12 in a contest where they led the entire time.
