Voters may not be entirely happy with some of the choices they could be asked to make in the 2024 General Election scheduled for Nov. 5, 2024, but there is one choice Morgan County voters won’t be able to make again next year.

Two Atlanta men were arrested on drug charges on July 20 following a traffic stop on I-20 near milepost 138. LaWalter Tommy Henderson, 40, and Eric Demarcus Standifer, 31, face cocaine trafficking charges.

A South Carolina man avoided several sets of stop sticks as he fled through Morgan and Greene counties July 16, but Morgan deputies were able to end the chase before he reached neighboring Walton and Newtown counties.

A Union City man was arrested by Morgan County deputies March 10 following a pursuit on I-20 that reached speeds of 130 mph. Jose Cortez-Sanchez, 26, faces charges of reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers, failure to maintain lane and theft by receiving stolen property.
