Morgan County woman hospitalized by dog attack

An 81-year-old Morgan County woman was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta Aug. 17 after a dog attack at a home on Apalachee Way in Buckhead. Janet Morrison suffered cuts, bruises and a broken hip during the attack.

Maserati found ablaze in Madison

An expensive Italian luxury car was found ablaze in the early morning hours of Aug. 21, near Davis Academy Road and Newborn Road. Morgan County deputy Christopher Lash was first on the scene. According to Lash’s report, a white Maserati was fully engulfed in flames when he arrived.

Juvenile vandals confess, sent to confinement

Two juveniles who went on a vandalism spree Aug. 3-4 are headed to the Wilkes County Regional Youth Detention Center as a result of their actions. According to police reports, the first vandalism was reported at the Madison-Morgan Food Pantry.

Atlanta men arrested for cocaine trafficking

Two Atlanta men were arrested on drug charges on July 20 following a traffic stop on I-20 near milepost 138. LaWalter Tommy Henderson, 40, and Eric Demarcus Standifer, 31, face cocaine trafficking charges.

Dangerous pursuit ends in Morgan County

Man reaches for gun during traffic stop

A man pulled over for reckless driving reached for a gun during a traffic stop, but a Morgan County deputy and a Madison police officer were able to subdue and arrest him on multiple charges on April 25, following a traffic stop that soon became dangerous.
