A Monticello man was arrested on battery charges after an altercation at TK’s Auto Service on the afternoon of Sept. 11.
According to reports, 20-year-old Cameron Gage Ogles, a former employee, showed up at the business to request his final paycheck.
According to owner Eddie Kennedy, Ogles was told that he would get his check when he returned all his uniforms.
At that point, Ogles began cursing at employees at the business. James Mann told Ogles several times that he needed to leave the store, according to the report.
An altercation then ensued between Mann and Ogles.
Corporal Stacey Eaton of the Madison Police Department arrived after Ogles had left the scene, but video evidence showed Ogles punching Mann in the mouth with a closed fist and causing injuries to his lips.
The two men fell to the ground and began fighting with Kennedy trying to pull Ogles off of Mann.
According to the report, Ogles pulled out a knife while Kennedy was trying to assist Mann but left the business before opening the knife.
Mann decided to press charges against Ogles and Kennedy asked that he be banned from the business with a trespass notice.
A warrant was in the process of being completed when Ogles turned himself in at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office just after 8 p.m.
