Former Tiger returns to Florida State for another season

Florida State freshman defensive lineman Kevin Wynn said on Wednesday, January 14, that he will remain with the Seminoles after he announced earlier this month that he planned to enter the transfer portal.The former Greene County standout said on his personal X account that he is returning.

Several Tigers tabbed to All-Region team

Greene County had another successful season in 2024, and the Class A Division II Region 8 coaches recognized several Tigers by voting them to the All-Region team.

Miller, Wynn to represent Greene County at next level

Greene County football’s Steve Miller and Kevin Wynn will continue their careers at the Division I level.Last week, Miller and Wynn signed the dotted line during the first day of the NCAA’s Early Signing Period for football. A signing ceremony was held for them at the school on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Greene County to face tough test in scrimmage

Greene County will play a preseason scrimmage against Northeast (Macon) on Friday night before its season opener next week. The Tigers will face a talented Raiders squad that went 8-3 overall last year in Class A Division I.

Wynn finds college home, commits to FSU

Greene County football senior Kevin Wynn has decided where to continue his career on the gridiron.Wynn, a highly-rated defensive tackle for the Tigers, committed to Florida State on Monday following his official visit to Tallahassee over the weekend.

Tigers show out at state meet

COMMERCE — Greene County’s track and field team had a strong showing at the Georgia High School Association’s Class A Division II state meet over the weekend at East Jackson High School.Greene County’s teams combined to have over a dozen athletes compete at the state’s highest level.

Tigers best Eagles in season opener

After playing a physical fall scrimmage against Putnam County, the Greene County football team began the regular season off on a positive note. The Tigers defeated the Eagles of Business Engineering Science and Technology (BEST) Academy 37-12 in a contest where they led the entire time.

Tigers more comfortable under Banks in year two

Defenses clash in Tigers’ scrimmage against Putnam County

The Greene County football team traveled to Al Reaves Field last Friday to take on Putnam County in the Tigers’ fall scrimmage. Both teams played their starters in the first half and gave the rest of their depth charts experience in the second half.

Tigers heating up on recruiting trail

Last season, a lot of Greene County football players helped the team make the state playoffs for the first time since 2018, and some of them are starting to get recognized by college coaches for their talents.
