Tigers maul Miller Grove in shutout fashion

Class A Division II's No. 6 ranked Greene County easily defeated Class AA opponent Miller Grove, topping the Wolverines 33-0 Saturday afternoon in Greensboro. The Tigers improved to 5-1 overall as they closed out non-region play.

‘Dogs overcome adversity to top Westside

Class AA’s No. 2 Morgan County remained undefeated following a close scare Saturday afternoon on the road against Westside of Macon. Morgan is now 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the region. The Dogs defeated the Seminoles 35-32 in the region opener for both teams.

Titans begin region play with Washington-Wilkes

Lake Oconee Academy lost its first game of the season, 37-24, against Landmark Christian two weeks ago.The Titans held an early 14-0 lead, but multiple turnovers and penalties caused the game to fall into the hands of the War Eagles.

Dogs to host winless Rutland squad

Morgan County (6-0, 1-0 Region 4-AA) is set to face Rutland (0-6, 0-1) at home this Friday.The Dogs are currently ranked No. 2 in Class AA and will be defending their winning streak this week.Morgan County head coach Clint Jenkins doesn’t want his team to overlook a winless Rutland squad.

Dawgs’ comeback falls just short

TUSCALOOSA – With less than a minute left in Saturday’s top-10 matchup against Alabama, Georgia’s Carson Beck tossed an interception in the end zone, sealing a 41-34 win for the Crimson Tide.The Bulldogs quarterback wasn’t sharp at times against Alabama, turning the ball over four times in the loss.

After losing to Alabama, Georgia looks to rebound as it faces rival Auburn this week at home.The Bulldogs, now ranked No. 5 nationally, enter the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry with a 3-1 overall record and 1-1 mark in the SEC. The Tigers are 2-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Annual Oconee Cup is friendly rivalry

Thirty-two men recently came together at Reynolds Lake Oconee to uphold a long-held Reynolds tradition: the Oconee Cup golf tournament.The tournament was founded in 1995 by the late Tom Clement, one of the founding members of Reynolds Plantation/Lake Oconee.
