No. 2-ranked Dogs begin region play

Class AA’s No. 2 ranked Morgan County begins region play this Thursday against Westside in Macon.The Dogs (5-0) enjoyed a bye this past Friday, while the Seminoles (2-3) knocked off Lamar County 20-10, snapping a three-game losing streak. This contest is each team’s Region 4-AA opener.

LOA softball getting hot at the right time

After starting the season 0-5, Lake Oconee Academy softball has gone 6-3 since, including 2-1 in the region.Lady Titans head coach Keetah Singleton is proud of her players for persevering after a rough start.

Titans’ winning streak snapped due to turnovers

Lake Oconee Academy dropped its first game of the season on Friday night, falling 37-24 to Landmark Christian.The Titans were off to their best start in school history, winning the season's first five games, but now fall to 5-1.

Georgia preps to face ’Bama – and Milroe – again

No. 2 Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) will face No. 4 Alabama (3-0) this Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.Last season, the Crimson Tide and dual-threat quarterback Jalen Milroe spoiled the Bulldogs’ plans at making the College Football Playoff with a 27-24 win in the 2023 SEC Championship game.

Lady Titans’ eyeing area volleyball tournament

As the regular season comes to a close, Lake Oconee Academy volleyball is gearing up to make a run in the area tournament.The Lady Titans started the year 13-2 but have since gone 3-5 and are now seventh in the area rankings.

Greene County grinds out win over Laney

Greene County got back in the win column this past Friday with a 14-8 non-region victory over Laney. The Tigers (4-1), currently ranked No. 6 in Class A Division II, grinded out the win over the Wildcats (3-2).

Spike Dogs seeing success in final stretch

Morgan County volleyball is firing on all cylinders heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Spike Dogs are 27-2 following two more victories over Westminster Christian and Jackson on Tuesday.

Titans slay Spartans, remain undefeated

Lake Oconee Academy continues its best start in school history, picking up its fifth straight win this past Friday. The Titans traveled to Augusta and brought home a 46-16 win over Glenn Hills to remain undefeated this season.
