EPCL debuts Alice Walker mini-museum

The Eatonton-Putnam County Library (EPCL) unveiled on Oct. 3, its new Alice Walker Mini-Museum, featuring the life and works of Eatonton native Alice Walker.

Proposed developments could increase truck traffic at Exit 130

Work continues at Exit 130 of I-20 in Greene County on a new Holiday Inn Express, Longhorn Steak House and RaceTrac gas station that will soon join recently opened Starbucks and Jersey Mike’s shops.

LOA crowns Homecoming King and Queen

Lake Oconee Academy hosted its third annual Homecoming football game this past Friday night. During halftime of the Titans’ game against Augusta Prep, the school named its Homecoming king and queen. D’Karrah Terrell was named Queen while Thomas Miller was crowned King.

Madison annexation tabled for proposed distribution center

The Madison City Council has postponed a public hearing concerning the annexation of property originally scheduled for its Oct. 9 meeting until the Nov. 13 meeting at the request of the applicant.

Morgan, Greene counties 2023 Homecoming ceremonies

City Council hears water woes, approves new policy for purchasing

The Greensboro City Water Department continues to struggle with repairs to the antiquated water and sewer system. Department head Freddie Evans told councilmembers Monday night that the big challenges are finding contractors and replacement parts.
