Lake Country Chorus presents ‘On Broadway’

Greensboro’s Lake Country Chorus (LCC) presented “On Broadway” last Thursday at Festival Hall, which was packed to capacity. Tony award-winning songs dating from the 1940s to the present were the order of the evening under the baton of vocal director Cathy (Cat) Williamson.

NHN ‘Songwriters Night’ helps build more beds

More than 600 people attended “A Songwriters’ Night” at Briar Patch Farm on April 20. The event benefitted the local non-profit organization Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN), which raised thousands of dollars to continue its mission in Greene and Putnam counties.

Pro rodeo rides into town

The 25th annual Greene County Livestock Association and Greene Country 4H Pro Rodeo was held at the Greene County AG Expo Center on Weldon Smith Drive in Greensboro from Apr. 26 to 27.

Harbor Club holds pickleball tournament

The Harbor Club Pickleball Association held a members-only tournament April 20 with more than 30 players in both the intermediate and advanced levels that were combined for play.Each game lasted 10 minutes. There were eight rounds with partners and opponents changing after every game.

Georgia Writers Museum ready for next chapter

The doors are closed right now at Eatonton’s favorite free attraction, the Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) and its accompanying bookstore on South Jefferson Avenue, just up the street from the historic Pex Theater and across the road from the iconic Putnam County courthouse.
