A police chase that began June 30 with what appeared to be a routine traffic stop ended after a Georgia State Patrol trooper performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, sending the fleeing driver to the Greene County Jail.

Lithonia man killed in I-20 crash

A Lithonia man died May 18 when his Honda Civic crashed into a concrete bridge pier supporting the Seven Islands overpass. According to Sgt. N.B. Carter of the Georgia State Patrol, 25-year-old Devonte Abner of 6458 Alford Way received fatal injuries upon impact at approximately 4:30 p.m.
