After coming off a dominant 42-12 win over the Warren County Screaming Eagles a couple weeks ago, the Greene County football team turned its attention to the Lincoln County Red Devils for its third region game of the season.

FOOTBALL: Tigers topple Towns Co. for first region victory

The Greene County football team came out on top against the Towns County Indians 23-6 in Hiawassee last Thursday night, getting moved from Friday night due to inclement weather.

FOOTBALL: Arkiyus Wright putting in the work for college offers

The Greene County football program has produced multiple star athletes that went on to play the sport for years after high school. Arkiyus Wright is one of the newest Tigers trying to make it to the next level and has been making a great case to do so.

FOOTBALL: Patriots ride high after fourth-quarter comeback victory over Greene County

Greene County head coach Terrance Banks left Tigers Stadium on Friday with a gut-wrenching feeling. Oglethorpe County (3-1) trailed by 12 points at the start of the fourth quarter, although the Patriots quickly erased that margin, defeating the Tigers (3-2) by a score of 34-33.

It was a rainy Friday night under the lights of Tiger Stadium, and the Greene County Tigers (2-1) persevered through three turnovers in the red zone to beat the Hancock Central Bulldogs (1-2) by a score of 27-18.

FOOTBALL: Bulldogs handle Tigers in rivalry game

The Morgan County football team hosted the Greene County Tigers at Bill Corry Stadium last Friday for their second game of the regular season. The Bulldogs defeated the Tigers 43-22, and head coach Clint Jenkins believed his team made some improvements from Week 1 to Week 2.

FOOTBALL GAME PREVIEW: Tigers looking to rebound against Hancock Central

Greene County (1-1) suffered a tough loss to Morgan County (2-0) last week on the road, but the Tigers hope to bounce back against rival Hancock Central (1-1) this Friday at home. The Bulldogs of Sparta head into Week 3 of the season following a 26-0 loss to Harlem High School.

The Terrance Banks era as head coach at GCHS got out to a great start on Friday night. The Tigers defeated the B.E.S.T. Academy as they were able to overcome a slow start offensively and play sound defense to secure the victory over the Eagles. “The credit goes to our defense.
