Tigers scrimmage Golden Hawks to end spring camp

After coming off one of its best seasons in recent memory, the Greene County football program began its spring camp just a few weeks ago. The Tigers got acclimated at the beginning of May and have been working out in the weight room and on the field ever since.

Morgan, Greene wrap up spring football with scrimmages

A pair of Lake Country area football programs – Class AAA’s Morgan County and Class A Division II’s Greene County – wrapped up spring practices this week with scrimmages against other programs.

Tigers’ Arkiyus Wright commits to Cumberland University

On the first day of February, Greene County’s Arkiyus Wright signed his letter of intent to play football at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. Family and friends gathered in the school’s theater around 2:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO - Greene County football player Arkiyus Wright signed his letter of intent to play football at Cumberland University on Wednesday.  The 5-foot-10, 165-pound defensive recorded 53 tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss through 10 games this past season.

Kirby-Copter lands in Tiger Town

After winning his second national title in two years, Georgia Bulldogs’ head coach Kirby Smart immediately hit the skies in his helicopter to travel to 10 schools across the state of Georgia.

FOOTBALL: Lions spoil Tigers' plans for playoff run

It was a rough night at Tiger Stadium for Greene County and head coach Terrance Banks. No. 3-seed Christian Heritage defeated the No. 2-seed Tigers 37-6 last Friday night. The loss eliminates them from contention in the Class A Division II playoffs.

FOOTBALL: Tigers come up a foot short against Fighting Irish

It was a battle all the way to the final seconds during last Friday’s football game between Greene County (5-4, 2-2) and Aquinas High School (6-3, 2-2), but the Fighting Irish were able to outlast a late push by the Tigers and come away with a victory.

FOOTBALL: Tigers drop first region game of the season

After winning two in a row, the Greene County football team met its match last week. The Tigers (5-3, 2-1) lost to the Lincoln County Red Devils 31-21 in the team’s third region game of the season, but it wasn’t because of a lack of effort.
