Tigers best Eagles in season opener

After playing a physical fall scrimmage against Putnam County, the Greene County football team began the regular season off on a positive note. The Tigers defeated the Eagles of Business Engineering Science and Technology (BEST) Academy 37-12 in a contest where they led the entire time.

Hill intent on having successful senior season

Greene County senior Justin Hill has been playing football for only three years, and in that time, he’s transitioned into one of the main leaders in the locker room and on the field.

Defenses clash in Tigers’ scrimmage against Putnam County

The Greene County football team traveled to Al Reaves Field last Friday to take on Putnam County in the Tigers’ fall scrimmage. Both teams played their starters in the first half and gave the rest of their depth charts experience in the second half.

Area teams handle the heat wave

As Lake Country football teams begin fall camp, coaches and players have to be cautious with this summer’s blistering heat. Programs will have to follow new Georgia High School Association (GHSA) protocols on heat and humidity.

Tigers heating up on recruiting trail

Last season, a lot of Greene County football players helped the team make the state playoffs for the first time since 2018, and some of them are starting to get recognized by college coaches for their talents.

Johnson tabbed as Tigers’ new offensive coordinator

Before heading into spring camp, Greene County’s football program hired former Mary Persons wide receiver coach Michael Johnson to be its new offensive coordinator for the 2023 season.
