Putnam County Elementary School (PCES) hosted Thanksgiving lunches for its students and their parents on Nov.15-17, with about 600 parents attending the three-day event. Each day, one grade, third through fifth, had the cafeteria at its disposal.

Eren Banks put pen to paper last week and signed to play at Georgia Southern University. The Putnam County basketball star is now officially an Eagle after signing his letter of intent. “I’m really excited,” Banks told The Eatonton Messenger.

News flash from Hollywood: Oscar winner Emma Stone and Emmy-nominated writer-director Dave McCary have launched Fruit Tree, a new film/TV production company with a two-year first-look TV deal with A24, an American independent entertainment company that specializes in film and television production.

A wet weather forecast for Nov. 11 pushed back a scheduled VFW-led Veterans Day program at the Putnam County Veterans Wall of Honor Park to Monday under cool, but bright, clear skies.
