Bar set high for Titans this season

With high school football summer practices in full swing, the Lake Oconee News is doing a series breaking down the schedules for Morgan County, Lake Oconee Academy, and Lake Oconee Academy. This week, it’s the Lake Oconee Academy Titans.

Titans begin summer practice

Lake Oconee Academy’s football team started its action-packed summer workout schedule a few weeks ago.The Titans are using this summer to grow closer as a team and try to improve before the start of the year. Their head coach, Patrick Stewart, said he wants to see more consistency from his team.

Titans cruise to victory over Cavaliers

The Lake Oconee Academy football team defeated Augusta Prep Day 42-18 at home last Friday for the Titans’ third consecutive win. With the victory, head coach Patrick Stewart’s team now has the most wins in a single season since the program started three years ago.

Titans look for fourth-straight win at Cherokee Christian

The Lake Oconee Academy Titans are traveling to Woodstock this Friday to take on the Cherokee Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. • Series Record: Cherokee Christian leads the series, 1-0. • Last Meeting: Cherokee Christian defeated LOA 34-14 in 2022.

Titans benefit from back-to-back road games

The Lake Oconee Academy football team just played its second road game in the past two weeks, and in both contests, the Titans came out on top. After defeating Loganville Christian Academy a few weeks ago, head coach Patrick Stewart’s team drove to Roberta to take on Crawford County.

Game Preview: Titans return home Friday to face Augusta Prep Day

The Lake Oconee Academy Titans will host the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers this Friday at 7:30 p.m. for the team’s seventh game of the season. • Series Record: Augusta Prep leads the all-time series over LOA, 1-0. • Last Meeting: Augusta Prep Day defeated Lake Oconee Academy 55-14 in 2021.

Titans conquer Lions in a shootout

Lake Oconee Academy’s football team defeated Loganville Christian Academy in a high-scoring 46-38 victory last Friday night.  The Titans put on a rushing clinic, outgaining the Lions 333-52 on the ground. It was the most yards head coach Patrick Stewart’s team had earned on the ground all season.

Titans can’t weather storm against ‘Canes

Jasper County defeated Lake Oconee Academy 12-6 in a defensive battle this past Friday. The Titans had multiple chances to take a lead, but their offense struggled to capitalize on turnovers and good field position.

The Lake Oconee Academy football team travels to Loganville this Friday to take on Loganville Christian Academy (LCA) at 7:30 p.m. • Series Record: Lake Oconee Academy leads the all-time series, 1-0. • Last Meeting: Lake Oconee Academy defeated Loganville Christian Academy 15-14 in 2022.

Titans fall to Patriots at home

After starting the year off 2-1, the Lake Oconee Academy football team was knocked back down a notch by Oglethorpe County last Friday night. The Titans lost 20-7 to the Patriots in a tightly contested battle – allowing two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter to end the game.
