A popular Madison eatery is temporarily closed following a kitchen fire that occurred Nov. 1, according to a report.
Ricardo’s Kouzzina on West Washington Street in the old Ice House building sustained damage to floors and kitchen equipment after a gas hose caught fire.

SOFTBALL: Lady ‘Dogs season comes to an end in Cordele

The Morgan County softball team saw its 2022 season end two weeks ago at the Cordele Regional.
The Lady Bulldogs entered the Class AAA playoffs as the No. 2 seed from Region 4-AAA. They started out the playoffs with a 10-0 run-rule victory over No. 4 seed Calvary Day.

XC: Morgan County sweeps Region 4-AAA meet

The Morgan County Cross Country team swept the Region 4-AAA meet last Wednesday.
The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs placed first in the region meet for a second straight season. Both teams will move on to the GHSA Class AAA state meet in Carrolton on Nov. 5.

A Madison police officer was nearly hit by a car on Oct. 19 while trying to place stop sticks on I-20 in an effort to assist the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office with a high-speed pursuit.

Burglar pauses for a cup of java at Madison City Hall

A burglar who was brazen enough to break into Madison’s temporary city hall and make himself a pot of coffee after ransacking several city offices has been arrested.
Jimmy Lee Love, 65, of Madison faces theft and criminal damage to property charges following the incident.
