VOLLEYBALL: Spike Dogs celebrate Senior Night

The Morgan County volleyball team celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday before facing Oconee County. The Spike Dogs honored four seniors - Mackenzie Pitzer, Addy Christian, Presley Hill, and Briana Worley. Next week, they will start the post-season as the No. 1 seed from Region 4-AAA.

Man eludes arrest by driving into the woods

A man driving a Land Rover at dangerously high speeds along rural roads in western Morgan County was able to elude Morgan County deputies after he drove across a field and into the woods on Oct. 1.

Rivian incentives in limbo

The basis for a $700 million local property tax break for a $5 billion Rivian manufacturing plant was shot down by Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Chief Superior Court Judge Brenda Trammell as she ruled in favor of a petition by opposition group Morgan County Land, Sky & Water Preservation.

BOC hears zoning requests on livestock, subdivisions

The Morgan County Board of Commissioners met at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning for its first meeting in the month of October. The meeting first began with board chairman Ben Riden opening the meeting by discussing the consent agenda.
