The Morgan County girls’ basketball team rode a seven-game winning streak into this week. The Lady Dogs also went 3-0 in that span and defeated two Region 4-AAA foes in the process.

The Morgan County Wrestling team placed second among 12 teams this past Saturday at the Tommy Warren Duals, held at Oconee County High School.

The Morgan County girls’ cross-country traveled to Carrollton this past weekend for the GHSA Class AAA state meet, and the Lady ‘Dogs left with a 10th-place finish.

The Morgan County Spike Dogs continued to play impressive volleyball as the team headed into the first round of the GHSA Class AAA state playoffs Tuesday. The Spike Dogs hosted the Calvary Day Cavaliers and used the home court to their advantage.

During the 2021-22 school year, 18 students earned the first AP Capstone Diplomas awarded by Morgan County High School, and 16 students earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. The AP Capstone Diploma program helps students develop the critical thinking, research, collaboration, and presentation skills that are critical for academic success.

The Georgia Bulldogs’ baseball team has added another Morgan County player from the class of 2026 – Hudson Reed. Reed joins fellow baseball and football teammate Ty Tillery as another Bulldog commit coming from the Diamond Dogs in 2022.

Jack Harper will enter his senior year at Morgan County High School already knowing where he’s going to attend college and continue his baseball career. The Bulldogs’ slugger recently committed to play at the University of South Carolina-Aiken following his final season at MCHS.

Newly hired Morgan County boys’ basketball coach Cody Anderson is ready to make an impact - both on the court and off - after accepting the job last week. He told the Lake Oconee News that the opportunity to coach the Bulldogs is a “blessing.” Anderson added that he is happy to be back at the high-school level, especially in his home state.
