Lady Dogs net dominant win over Long County in first round of Class AAA state playoffs

The top-seeded Morgan County girls soccer team started off its playoff run with a convincing 5-0 win over No. 4 seed Long County on Tuesday. In Tuesday's matchup, Morgan County struck first on the scoreboard as junior Camp Stamps netted a goal on an assist from senior Sidda Outlaw.

MCCSS breaks ground on new $5.7 million field house

Members of the Morgan County Charter School System recently gathered with many others at Bill Corry Stadium at Morgan County High School for a groundbreaking ceremony for its new field house. According to school officials, the project is set to be completed in October.

Lady Dogs split games to end regular season

Morgan County girls soccer split two games with non-region opponents last week to end its 2023 season. The Lady ‘Dogs faced two Class AAAAA teams in Clarke Central and Ola at Bill Corry Stadium. Morgan County dominated the Lady Gladiators 3-0 on Tuesday to remain undefeated.

3-PEAT: Bulldogs defeat Harlem, capture Region 4-AAA title

The Morgan County boys soccer team needed to defeat Harlem by at least two goals to secure the Region 4-AAA championship, and that’s exactly what the Bulldogs did in last Thursday’s victory. Morgan County topped Harlem 2-0 to win its third straight region title and fifth under coach Aaron Paul.

Diamond Dogs take two from Salem, drop one to Apalachee

The Morgan County baseball team (8-8, 5-0) was busy last week as it played three games. The Bulldogs completed the sweep of region foe Salem but dropped a contest to non-region opponent Apalachee.

Diamond Dogs snap losing streak

  MCHS eighth-year head coach Merritt Ainslie told the Lake Oconee News last week that he likes scheduling tough competition for his squad, especially because it will only help them in the long run.

Morgan County basketball players garner All-Region honors

Morgan County recently had several boys and girls basketball players named to the All-Region 4-AAA Team. The Bulldogs had two players earn All-Region honors while two others were honorable mentions. The Lady Dogs also had several players earn All-Region honors and a few honorable mentions.

Lady Dogs open season with perfect record

After a disappointing loss to Cherokee Bluff in the Elite Eight round of the Class 3A state playoffs last year, Morgan County girls soccer has started out the 2023 season with an 8-0 record. The Lady Bulldogs learned a lot from that loss last year and have been on a tear as of late.

Harlem loss leaves questions for Bulldogs

The Morgan County boys soccer team enters the midpoint of its season with a 4-2-1 record. The Bulldogs are second in the Region 4-AAA standings after a 2-1 loss to Harlem last Tuesday.
