Madison declares stormwater emergency on Candler Lane

Madison City Council is moving forward with an emergency plan to correct stormwater issues causing serious concerns on Candler Lane.
The situation there was serious enough for the council to have a special called meeting on Jan. 12 to discuss a solution.

Town Walk site amendment approved

The Madison City Council awarded a contract to low bidder Garrett Paving Company for resurfacing of local streets and associated repairs during the regular meeting held on Jan. 8.
The city will pay the paving company an amount not to exceed $427,366.

Madison City Council rejects ‘pig in a poke’

The Madison City Council voted 4-1 to deny a proposal that would have annexed a parcel of land between Indian Creek Road and Monticello Highway during the city’s regular meeting on Nov. 13. Ed Latham was the only dissenting vote.

Madison annexation tabled for proposed distribution center

The Madison City Council has postponed a public hearing concerning the annexation of property originally scheduled for its Oct. 9 meeting until the Nov. 13 meeting at the request of the applicant.
