A Rochester, New York, woman was arrested on multiple charges after leading law enforcement agencies on a chase involving deputies from four counties on Oct. 10.

A woman who hails from a long line of Greene County educators and whose mother is the namesake of a middle school is running for a seat on the Greene County Board of Education. Her seat is currently held by Steve Kilgore for District 1.

At the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, former athletic director Eddie Hood wanted to create something that brought Greene County alumni back to interact with current students and athletes. To do so, Hood introduced the “Ring of Honor” to the school’s culture, and now as principal, has held it for two consecutive years with the most recent ceremony coming during last week’s homecoming contest against Warren County.

There might be a resolution to the long-running Lake Oconee Academy lawsuit against the Greene County Board of Education. The lawsuit, filed by LOA in September 2020, accuses the school district of failing to pass through enough money to fund all of LOA’s students.
