Multi-county pursuit ends with arrest in Eatonton

A Greensboro woman was arrested on a laundry list of charges in Eatonton on March 12, following a police chase involving several law enforcement agencies at speeds approaching 100 mph. Marguerite Elizabeth Crumbley, 42, faces charges of reckless driving, DUI, misdemeanor obstruction, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failure to maintain lane.

What stood as a symbol of continuing education in Greene County will soon have a For Sale sign after 25 years of occupancy by Athens Technical College. The technical facility in Greene County, one of four ATC campuses, has occupied part of a 25-acre parcel in the county’s Industrial Park at South Main and Highway 44.

12th annual Ticket to Ride benefits Firefly Trail

The non-competitive, 12th annual Firefly Trail Ticket to Ride, presented by Athens Physical Therapy, returns March 25, and is expected to attract about 250 cyclists to roads and towns from Athens to Union Point – or Union Point to Athens. Ticket to Ride celebrates progress on the Firefly Trail and builds momentum to connect segments already complete or under construction.
