Bulldogs work on fundamentals during spring practice

During its spring practice session, Morgan County football’s team has worked hard the past few weeks.The ‘Dogs hit the field at the start of the month and returned to “working on fundamentals” of the game before their spring scrimmage against Walnut Grove High School this Friday at home.

Lady Titans cap off ‘magical’ season with state title

The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ tennis team captured the program’s first state championship this past Saturday at Berry College in Rome, defeating powerhouse Telfair County in a close match.

Aquinas tops Lady Titans for state title

MACON — In a match that marked the end of the Lake Oconee Academy girls soccer team’s historic postseason run, the Lady Titans faced off against their region rival, Aquinas, on Tuesday night.

Pitching helps Titans sweep Bulldogs, advance to semifinals

Jon Funderburke and Maddox Robinson were the heroes of the day, delivering a pair of stellar pitching performances that propelled Lake Oconee Academy to a series sweep over the Emanuel County Institute, securing the team’s place in the semifinal round of the Class A Division II state playoffs.

Greene County High School announced last week via social media the hiring of a new soccer coach.Former Lake Oconee Academy girls’ soccer coach Jacob Baxley will take over and run both teams next year.

Gators dominate Westwood to advance in playoffs

In their first playoff series of the 2024 postseason, the Gatewood Gators (17-7) swept the Westwood Wildcats in two games last Friday in a best-of-three series at home in Eatonton.The Gators won the opening game 15-8, then followed up with a 13-5 win to advance to the GIAA Class 2A semifinal.
