Younger Lady ‘Dogs win league championship

The Morgan County Middle School girls basketball team recently won its league championship.The younger Lady Dogs defeated Oconee County Middle School 48-40 to capture the title.Morgan County head coach Tweety Hawkins was proud of her players for bringing home the trophy.

Gators perfect at home, heading to playoffs

The Gatewood Gators wrapped up their 2024-25 regular season last Tuesday night with an 80-70 win over the visiting Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers.

Lady Gators get ready for region

After losing their third straight game on Feb. 4, Gatewood (9-11, 4-4) will head to Macon this Thursday to begin the region tournament against host Windsor Academy (5-21, 0-8).Last Tuesday, the Lady Gators lost 48-37 to the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lady Lancers.

Greene girls weather storm against Lady ‘Canes

Greene County girls basketball got a much-needed win last week against Class 3A’s Monroe Area.The Lady Tigers snapped a long losing streak by defeating the Lady Hurricanes 60-45 on Feb. 1.With the win, Greene County improved to 4-14 overall. The non-region win was big for the Lady Tigers.

Titans ready to build off historic season

Lake Oconee Academy baseball is coming off its best season in program history and wants to build off that success this year.In 2024, the Titans won a program record 26 games, captured their first region championship, and made their longest postseason run.
