Lady Titans pull away late to defeat Lady Tigers

Lake Oconee Academy girls basketball pulled away late in the fourth quarter to defeat Greene County on Jan. 25.The Lady Titans led 44-37 with 1:39 remaining, but a late surge by their opponent kept the game close. The Lady Tigers went on a quick 5-0 run to cut the score to 44-42 with 18.

The Morgan County wrestling team was busy wrapping up the first part of the season last week.On Jan. 13, the Mat Dogs hosted and placed first overall in the area’s teams duals tournament, earning them a spot at the Class 2A state championships in Columbus High School four days later.

Mixed results for Gators on road

Gatewood (14-4, 3-2) recently played three consecutive region away games, resulting in a loss sandwiched between two wins.The run started Jan. 14 in Dublin, where the Gators beat Trinity Christian 68-60 for the Crusaders’ 15th-straight loss since the 2024-25 season began.
