Last week, Lake Oconee Academy’s golf teams excelled in the Class A Division II state tournaments in Evans.Both teams secured titles with outstanding performances, achieving the second-lowest scores among all GHSA classifications.

Gators to play for state title after sweeping Trinity Christian

Despite a slow start last Friday, the Gatewood Gators wound up dominating in consecutive wins over the Trinity Christian Crusaders to seal a spot in their fifth-straight GIAA Class 2A state championship series.

Lady Dogs end golf season on high note

Morgan County girls golf achieved one of its best finishes in program history last week at the Class AA state match.The Lady Dogs finished third overall in their classification behind Pierce County and Hart County with a score of 362.

Diamond Dogs falter in Final Four

Franklin County knocked Morgan County out of the Class AA state playoffs last week with a 2-1 series win.The two teams split the first two games, with both ending in a walk-off. After falling behind early, the Dogs won game one 10-7 when Jack Whitlow hit a three-run bomb.

MACON — Lake Oconee Academy soccer made history May 15 at Mercer University’s Five-Star Stadium.The Titans (17-3) secured the Class A Division II boys state championship with a 3-1 victory over Atkinson County (17-5).

MACON — The Lake Oconee Academy girls soccer team came up just short against Atlanta Classical Academy in the Class A Division II state championship game at Mercer University’s Five-Star Stadium on May 16.The Lady Cavaliers edged out the Lady Titans 2-1 to capture their first state title.
