HORNS DOWN! Dawgs’ dominate 4th-quarter in win over Texas

Georgia put on a masterful display of domination Saturday night at home, especially in the fourth quarter of its 35-10 victory over Texas.The Bulldogs (9-1, 7-1), who led 14-10 going into the final quarter, performed better than the Longhorns when it mattered most.

Morgan County baseball players sign to play at next level

The Morgan County baseball team recently had three players sign letters of intent to play at the next level.On Nov. 12, seniors Ty Tillery, Caylem Richardson, and Hudson Reed held a signing ceremony in the school’s auditorium.

The Gatewood Gators shotgun team recently solidified its place among Georgia’s elite athletic programs, capturing its 10th state championship over the last 12 years.This latest title came on Nov.

Dogs win first round of playoffs over Seminoles

Morgan County kicked off the postseason on Nov. 14, hosting Westside of Macon in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs.The two teams had already played earlier this season, with the Dogs winning 56-14 on Sept. 26.

Bobcats run all over Tigers in first round

Early County handled Greene County with ease last Friday in Blakely, defeating the Tigers 43-6 in dominating fashion to advance to the second round of the Class A Division II playoffs for a fourth straight year.

Dawgs maul Miss State with ‘total team effort’

In a battle of Bulldogs, No. 5 Georgia dominated Mississippi State in all three phases of the game.The visiting Bulldogs played well on offense, defense, and special teams to pull off a 41-21 win in Starkville.

Lady Titans volleyball celebrates historic season

The 2025 season for the Lake Oconee Academy volleyball team was one of the best in program history.The Lady Titans won a program-record 25 matches with only seven losses this year.

Tigers to face Early County in first round

Greene County secured a playoff spot with a 27-7 win over crosstown rival Lake Oconee Academy on Oct. 24.The Tigers (2-8) are the No. 4 seed from Region 8 in Class A Division II and will face No. 1 Early County (7-3) in the first round this Friday in Blakely.

Perfect regular season means a lot to Morgan County seniors

Morgan County’s win over Callaway to capture the region title on Oct. 31 was special for the program.With the 43-22 win over the Cavaliers, the Dogs capped off the 2025 regular season with a perfect 10-0 record for the first time in over half a century.
