The Lake Oconee Academy softball team got back on the right track during last Monday’s doubleheader against the Washington-Wilkes Tigers.

XC: Runnin’ Dogs show out at home meet

The Morgan County cross country team showed out at its only home meet of the regular season. The Dogs placed second overall, finishing right behind Class 7A’s Mountain View High School.

FOOTBALL GAME PREVIEW: Bulldogs head into the eye of the storm

The Morgan County football program couldn’t have asked for a better start to its 2022 season. Currently, the Bulldogs are undefeated and have won both of their games by an average of three touchdowns.

FOOTBALL GAME PREVIEW: Tigers looking to rebound against Hancock Central

Greene County (1-1) suffered a tough loss to Morgan County (2-0) last week on the road, but the Tigers hope to bounce back against rival Hancock Central (1-1) this Friday at home. The Bulldogs of Sparta head into Week 3 of the season following a 26-0 loss to Harlem High School.

FOOTBALL: Titans regroup heading into Towns County

The Lake Oconee Academy football team was defeated by the George Walton Academy Bulldogs last Friday night with the final score ending at 42-6. The Titans’ defense made some important plays during the first half, but the Bulldogs’ rushing attack proved to be too much.

OUTDOORS: The glory of the boiled peanut

I was chatting with my buddy Steve Davenport the other morning. He made a point that struck home and did so in a manner that, frankly, I figured it needed a column! Boiled peanuts are a snack so perfect and so in time with the South’s nature and experience, only God could have created them.
