This ain’t Greene County’s first rodeo.
In fact, it’s the 27th annual Greene County Pro Rodeo, set for April 24–25 at the Greene County Agricultural Center, located at 1180 C. Weldon Smith Dr. in Greensboro, near the driver’s license office.
Admission is $20 for ages 13 and up and $10 for children ages 5–12. Children 4 and under are admitted free. Gates open at 6 p.m., with the rodeo beginning at 8 p.m.
Bring the whole family to enjoy thrilling rodeo events and the antics of rodeo clown T.J. Williams, who is sure to keep the crowd laughing.
Sanctioned by the National Cowboy Pro Rodeo Association (NCPRA), the event features top athletes competing in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping (CGBRK), and team roping.
The rodeo is co-sponsored by the Greene County Livestock Association and the local 4-H club, with proceeds supporting youth agricultural programs. Concessions and vendors will be available on-site, and the venue includes wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking.
The evening also features free contests for children. Kids ages 2–3 can participate in the stick horse race, while ages 4–5 will race to the finish without getting “bucked off.” The Boot Race is open to ages 6–10, challenging participants to put their boots or shoes back on and sprint to the finish line.
There will be plenty of food options, including hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, corn on the cob, Mexican fare, boiled peanuts, shaved ice, funnel cakes, and more.
Be sure to visit the Cowboy Corner, a fan-favorite spot for Western attire.
It’s a night full of excitement, community, and a taste of the Western lifestyle — with plenty of laughs and good conversation along the way.
Donations collected during the rodeo will support efforts to fight cancer and cystic fibrosis, as well as benefit Greene County 4-H, Greene County FFA, Camp Twin Lakes, and two youth rodeos held each summer.
