Greensboro city council moved ahead last week on confirming the salary for its new city manager, Jarvis Simms, who took the position at the beginning of the month. He will be paid $135,000 per year. Former city manager Larry Postell has been retained though July as a consultant.

Lithonia man killed in I-20 crash

A Lithonia man died May 18 when his Honda Civic crashed into a concrete bridge pier supporting the Seven Islands overpass. According to Sgt. N.B. Carter of the Georgia State Patrol, 25-year-old Devonte Abner of 6458 Alford Way received fatal injuries upon impact at approximately 4:30 p.m.
