Morgan County Charter Schools (MCCS) recently revealed a 93.1% graduation rate for the Class of 2025.
The announcement came four months after Morgan County High School held its graduation ceremony for 257 students, its largest senior class to date.
The Class of 2025’s graduation rate surpasses the previous record set by the Class of 2024, which was 92.6%.
According to a recent press release from MCCS, the 93.1% graduation rate surpassed the state of Georgia’s overall graduation rate. Morgan County also exceeded the average graduation rate for its region.
The report featured remarks from MCCS Superintendent Dr. Susan Stancil, who assumed her position following the conclusion of the 2024-25 school year. She said the graduation rate achievement resulted from joint efforts within the schools and the community.
“Morgan County’s graduation rate is a reflection of the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and staff, and the strong support of our families and community,” Stancil said. “We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2025 for their achievements and for continuing to raise the bar for excellence.”
Morgan County’s graduation rate exceeded the state graduation rate by nearly six percent.
Georgia had an 87.2% graduation rate for the Class of 2025, marking an “all-time high” for the state, which has gradually been increasing over the past few years.
State School Superintendent Richard Woods also commented on the state record, saying he is proud of Georgia’s graduation class, along with the students’ supporting families, teachers, and staff. He believes the increased graduation rate represents the work of educators in school systems throughout Georgia.
“Seeing this increase in a single year is a strong indicator of the work Georgia’s schools and districts are doing to keep students engaged in their education and prepare them for successful lives after high school,” Woods said.
“While more work remains to be done, more Georgia students are graduating than ever before — and they’re doing so prepared to pursue futures full of opportunity.”
