Daryl and Kathi Chandler welcomed Mika Mills of the Greene County Chamber of Commerce, representatives of the Eatonton-Putnam County Chamber and a group of enthusiastic supporters to Harmony Holistic for a ribbon cutting Sept. 23.
The new business (921 Harmony Rd., Eatonton) specializes in health and wellness as well as detox support and hopes to help its customers get to the root of health issues by focusing on the roots of food.
“I’m very education oriented and specialize in teaching people what’s going on in their body, why it’s happening and how to counteract it using food and herbs,” Kathi Chandler said.
According to Chandler, modern medicine did not place the same value on food and herbs as nutritionists once did, with many health-conscious individuals focusing on supplements and medications to achieve their health goals rather than herbs and food.
Harmony Holistic’s location on Harmony Road could not be more fitting.
“Back in the early 1900s when antibiotic medicines were really starting to emerge, which was a beautiful, wonderful gift to have, a lot of herbal knowledge possessed by nutritionists fell by the wayside,” Chandler said. “But it’s still relevant, still helpful. We’re seeing now after a hundred years of using medicines primarily as a source of health that we need to use the correct herbs and the correct foods at the correct time of year to have our bodies functioning the way they are supposed to. I want to bring all that knowledge back to people.”
Harmony Holistic also offers a detox spa which promotes the release of toxins. Their commitment to wellness embraces methods that support mental and emotional vitality as well.
This is achieved through focusing on nutritional and herbal remedies to manage health and nurture your body.
Harmony Holistic has sessions available for infrared sauna, vibration therapy, chromotherapy, targeted red-light therapy and aroma therapy.
