Greene 4-H’er is state congress runner-up

Georgia 4-H celebrated excellence during the 80th annual 4-H State Congress as top 4-H’ers from around the state gathered July 18-21 in Atlanta.

MVS awards scholarships to local graduates

Two recent Putnam County High School (PCHS) graduates were presented with scholarship checks last Friday from Dr. Willie Oliver at his Most Valuable Smiles (MVS) dentistry practice on Eatonton’s downtown square.

Plaza Arts Center teaches kids ideas for creativity

The Plaza Arts Center’s annual Art Camp for Kids took place July 17-21, in Eatonton. “Children at this camp are doing different types of art and get exposed to different art media,” Plaza Arts Center Executive Director Susan Usry said. “There are a lot of activities, and the children are very good.

Summer Inspiration teaches kids useful skills

Putnam County’s Summer Inspiration Program keeps children busy during the summer months and continues to teach them practical skills in a fun and engaging way. Rising kindergarteners to second graders in the Happy Little Gardeners camp learned how to grow their own vegetables.
