When a local business manager noticed copper wire mysteriously disappearing from the company’s inventory, he installed surveillance cameras. What he saw on the security videos prompted a call to the Eatonton Police Department.

Tubing accident sends 7-year-old to hospital

A seven-year-old girl was injured in a tubing accident on Lake Oconee on Saturday. She was riding on the inflatable raft with an eight-year-old girl at the time, according to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.Shortly before 5 p.m.

It came down to one word. After more than an hour of debate in a meeting last Friday, one word ultimately determined the Putnam County Commission's decision to opt into State House Bill 581 as it stands.

Just five months after breaking ground in Eatonton, Whataburger opened on a cool, foggy morning last Wednesday. Located near Walmart and Waffle House alongside Hwy. 441 on the west side of town, Eatonton’s newest fast-food outlet immediately started doing brisk business.
