The 2024 season at The Plaza Arts Center was packed with exciting entertainment and fun community events, but now it’s 2025, and the hits will continue to come.
Hits were a big part of what The Beatles were all about in the 1960s through ‘70s, and this month, The Plaza presents a first for Eatonton with The Return Beatles Tribute show coming to The Plaza stage.
The Return includes four: Michael Fulop as George Harrison, Shane Landers as Paul McCartney, Richard Stelling as John Lennon, and Adam Thurston as Ringo Starr. Together, this Atlanta-based Fab Four will probably provide the closest we’ll ever get to experiencing time travel to see the Fab Four perform live.
The voice of Ed Sullivan erupts from the sound system, instantly transporting the audience back in time as four mop-topped young men take the stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen ... The Beatles!”
And there they are, the four lads from Liverpool, in the flesh, at The Plaza Arts Center. Or, at least, as close to it as we’ll ever see again.
The Return has worked hard to recreate the complete Beatles experience on stage meticulously. From authentic vintage instruments to haircuts, custom-made clothes and boots, unmistakable Liverpool accents, and “Beatlesque” antics, these talented musicians genuinely bring out the charming, charismatic personas of the original four lads, whom so many adore.
True to the original Fab Four, The Return derives its song list from a specific part of the Beatles catalog. It primarily performs material that the Beatles played in live concert settings. This list includes early cover songs, from the originals played at Liverpool’s Cavern Club to Lennon-McCartney numbers performed on the last Beatles tour of America in 1966.
The Return will perform at 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 at The Plaza. Tickets can now be purchased at plazacenter.org or by the Plaza office at 706-923-1655.
