Greensboro’s Lake Country Chorus (LCC) presented “On Broadway” last Thursday at Festival Hall, which was packed to capacity. Tony award-winning songs dating from the 1940s to the present were the order of the evening under the baton of vocal director Cathy (Cat) Williamson.

The Lake Country Chorus performed their spring concert “On Broadway” at Festival Hall last Thursday and rocked the house. It was the debut of “Cat” Williamson as their musical director, and it was well received by a packed house of enthusiastic fans.

Southern waters inspire new MAGallery exhibition

MAGallery in downtown Madison will open its third special exhibition of the year this Friday, “Finding Light,” featuring the ethereal works of Southwest Georgia artist Dana Johns. Influenced by the slow waters of the river environment in which she grew up, Johns uses her artistic talent to communicate the beauty and mystery of Southern waters in artworks that go beyond the material to reveal something spiritual.

The event, hosted at the Greene College & Career Academy, brought together career coaches, parents, family members, friends, and school staff to commend students for their exceptional efforts during the past quarter.

NHN ‘Songwriters Night’ helps build more beds

More than 600 people attended “A Songwriters’ Night” at Briar Patch Farm April 20, benefiting local non-profit organization Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN), which was able to raise thousands of dollars to continue its mission in Greene and Putnam counties.

Artisans Village Guild hosts 8th annual Paint Out

The Artisans Village Guild hosted its 8th annual Eatonton One Day Paint Out on Saturday. Two award-winning plein air artists, Shane McDonald and Celeste McCollough, opened the day by teaching two sold-out workshops, one in a beautiful garden of the historic Hancock home in Eatonton and the other in an interesting historic alleyway in town.
