Greene County head football coach arrested by GBI

Greene County High School head football coach Darius Robinson has been arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) after allegedly choking and hitting several of his players.The state law enforcement agency released a statement on Thursday.

Bobcats run all over Tigers in first round

Early County handled Greene County with ease last Friday in Blakely, defeating the Tigers 43-6 in dominating fashion to advance to the second round of the Class A Division II playoffs for a fourth straight year.

Tigers to face Early County in first round

Greene County secured a playoff spot with a 27-7 win over crosstown rival Lake Oconee Academy on Oct. 24.The Tigers (2-8) are the No. 4 seed from Region 8 in Class A Division II and will face No. 1 Early County (7-3) in the first round this Friday in Blakely.

In a game with likely more penalties called than points scored, Greene County earned a 27-7 victory Oct. 24 over Lake Oconee Academy.The win was powered by a strong second-half effort from the Tigers, with a trip to the playoffs at stake.

Weather postpones Greene-Twiggs game

The non-region game between Greene County and Twiggs County on Thursday, Aug. 21, didn’t last long.The Tigers and Cobras were three plays into the contest from scrimmage when lightning caused a delay.
