A Greene County deputy arrested a South Carolina man on May 13 after discovering 9 ounces of cocaine powder inside a grocery bag hidden in a Nissan’s center console.Mario Chavez-Plata, of Myrtle Beach, has been charged with a window tint violation, driving without a license, and trafficking cocaine.

New Yorkers nabbed with 70 credit cards

Two men from New York City were charged with multiple crimes on March 4 following a traffic stop in Greene County, during which more than 70 credit cards, an HP laptop computer with a charger, a Canon portable printer, and two bundles of blank printable check paper were discovered.

A Union County man traveling with a small dog was caught with 15 pounds of marijuana Feb. 6 during an I-20 traffic stop. David Marquis Manigault, 42, was charged with trafficking marijuana and cited for suspended registration.
