HSMC awarded $100,000 check from local nonprofit

The Humane Society of Morgan County (HSMC) is celebrating a recent $100,000 donation gifted by the Five Bucks Foundation of Lake Oconee.

HSMC, Harvest & Honey host ‘Coffee with Cats’

The Humane Society of Morgan County has launched a new monthly event, “Coffee with Cats,” with Harvest & Honey, a catering service in Rutledge. The recurring adoption event began in March and takes place on the third Saturday of every month.Coffee with Cats takes place at HSMC from 10:00 a.m.

Local animal rescues receive spay/neuter grants

Every year, the Georgia Department of Agriculture awards grants to animal shelters and rescues through its Dog and Cat Sterilization Program, which aims to provide financial assistance for procedures that target pet overpopulation.

The Humane Society of Morgan County (HSMC) held its 30th-anniversary festival Saturday at the Madison Lion’s Club. The fundraising event ran from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and was open to the public and canine companions.

HSMC celebrates 30 years of service to community

The Humane Society of Morgan County (HSMC) has provided shelter animals with homes since 1994. Located at 1170 Fairground Road in Madison, the shelter houses a wide variety of dogs and cats needing forever homes.The shelter recently reached its capacity for both dogs and cats.

HSMC hosts Pistons for Paws

The Humane Society of Morgan County (HSMC) held its annual Pistons for Paws Charity Car Show fundraiser Sept. 16 in downtown Madison. The show included trucks, motorcycles, classic muscle cars and even a couple of hearses.

Humane Society gets needed anonymous match

After a year of rising costs and a bout of Parvo that closed down the adoption center for two weeks, the treasurer of the Humane Society of Morgan County is projecting an annual shortfall of $50,000.
