Dubose hangs himself in prison; GBI investigates

Ricky Dubose, who was sentenced to death in Putnam County Superior Court on June 16, ended up spending only 10 days on death row. Dubose apparently hanged himself to death in his cell on Sunday, June 26, according to authorities.

Now convicted of double murder and given the penalty of death, Ricky Allen “Juvie” Dubose seems to have become the youngest person currently on death row in Georgia. Dubose was awarded the capital punishment Thursday, June 16, in Putnam County Superior Court.

The Putnam County Board of Commissioners Tuesday night sent a 30-day take-it-or-leave-it offer to the Eatonton City Council on the split of the local option sales tax for the next 10 years. Last week’s high temperatures claimed the life of a pet dog and led to the owner’s arrest, according to authorities. Eatonton Police Department officer Dennis Tippens responded to a call on the 100 block of Custer Avenue regarding a dead dog.
