Harris collapses at Tuesday's Morgan BOC meeting

According to Morgan County Board of Commissioners Chairman Ben Riden, District 1 representative Donald B. Harris “collapsed” during Tuesday night’s meeting. “It happened about two-thirds of the way through the meeting,” Riden said on Wednesday. “I didn’t see it occur, but it happened so fast.

Graduation rate at its highest point ever in Morgan County

The Morgan County Charter School System heard good news at its monthly meeting Oct. 10. MCCSS Superintendent Dr. Virgil Cole called the meeting to order. The board approved the minutes from its Monday, Sept. 12 meeting, as well as the special called meeting in August.

BOC hears zoning requests on livestock, subdivisions

The Morgan County Board of Commissioners met at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning for its first meeting in the month of October. The meeting first began with board chairman Ben Riden opening the meeting by discussing the consent agenda.

Morgan County Courthouse getting a facelift

The Morgan County courthouse, located in downtown Madison, will soon be getting some “much-needed” repairs. The Morgan County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the request at Tuesday’s meeting.

FY23 budget approved by Morgan County Commissioners

The Morgan County Board of Commissioners approved the budget for FY2023 during the second meeting in June this past Tuesday. Chairman Ben Riden opened the meeting by acknowledging the board’s prior meeting minutes before moving into new business.
