Man reaches for gun during traffic stop

A man pulled over for reckless driving reached for a gun during a traffic stop, but a Morgan County deputy and a Madison police officer were able to subdue and arrest him on multiple charges on April 25, following a traffic stop that soon became dangerous.

MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT Robert Ezra Jenkins, 44, of Porterdale was arrested on Feb. 1 and charged with disorderly conduct. According to reports, Jenkins got into an altercation with his stepson and caused a disturbance at a Rutledge campground.

MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Morgan County Deputies responded to the Madison Pentecostal Church on Morris Road on Jan. 25 to investigate an alarm going off. Deputies discovered that the front door was not secure, and it appeared someone had been attempting to do work on the alarm panel.
