Greensboro’s newest event venue opens on Main Street

Despite many brides-to-be wanting traditional weddings in churches, the times have changed, and many are now opting to book special venues to celebrate the day. A new one, The Palms on Main, is located in the former Dream Catchers and Lake and Local store on 104 S. Main St.

Zapien’s wins colorful nationwide contest

Norman Zapien freely admits he’d forgotten that hair stylist Renata Falanga had entered his business into a nationwide contest. But when an email arrived saying his Greensboro-based Zapien’s Salon had prevailed over nearly 20,000 entries, he was stunned – and just a little bit skeptical.

Mother sets sights on recall of Greensboro elected officials

A Greene County mother is exploring a recall of Greensboro’s mayor and three city council members over concerns regarding the handling of her son’s arrest by the Greensboro Police Department that led a jury to convict him to a lengthy sentence.

Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club holds BBQ fest

The Farm at Lake Oconee was teeming with a big crowd who all came out in support of Greensboro’s leading charitable organization, the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club. Held on Father’s Day, the event was supported by many key sponsors and included many of Greensboro’s businesses and specialty vendors.
