Lithonia men arrested on cocaine trafficking charges

Greene County deputies arrested two Lithonia men on multiple drug charges Feb. 22 following a traffic stop on I-20. Amanuel Beyene, 38, and Noah Worku Ferede, 24, face charges of possession of a controlled substance, trafficking cocaine and trafficking MDMA.

Downtown Greensboro kicks off busy event season

The Greensboro Business Association (GBA) held its inaugural event in downtown Greensboro under sunny skies with visitors coming to the city from near and far. Mardi Gras was celebrated through colorfully decorated storefronts and gift baskets to be won following a drawing held later.

Playoff Bound: Lady Tigers headed to postseason after win over Washington-Wilkes

The Greene County girls basketball team is returning to the postseason for the first time in two years.  The Lady Tigers defeated Washington-Wilkes 47-39 on Tuesday. They will now move on to the region semifinals, which also qualifies them for the Class A Division II state playoffs.

Not only was Feb. 2 Groundhog Day, but it was also National Job Shadow Day. Greene College & Career Academy students had the opportunity to explore careers through shadowing people who are working in career fields they are interested in pursuing.
